CODE OF CONDUCT

AS A SWORDBROTHER OF THE DARK HORDE, I DO HEREBY GIVE MY OATH AND STEEL:

1. To do nothing in word or deed which would cast a bad reflection upon the Horde, acting always with the best interest of the Sword Brothers in mind.
2. To ever seek perfection in all things rather than superiority.
3. To see that my skills and weapons are never used in a dishonorable fashion, that I take my responsibility as an arms-bearer seriously.
4. To conduct myself in combat with safety ever foremost in my mind, being prepared to accept personal defeat rather than endanger the well-being of another, whether he be Swordbrother or ch'agua.
5. To bear no arms against another Sword Brother, nor to fail to assist him in SCA combat, with the exception of practices and tests of arms.
6. To abandon no Sword Brother wounded upon the field.
7. To yield never to the enemy in combat, to fight until either victorious or dead.
8. To use or abuse no other Brother's weapons, armor, provisions or household without the express consent of that Sword Brother.
9. To protect each Sword Brother's weapons, armor, provisions and household in his absence or incapacitation; and to assist him as needed in his presence.
10. To shun rude behavior and to act always in an honorable fashion, treating all ch'agua and Sword Brothers with respect and honor - whether they are deserving of it or not.
11. To never openly ridicule or dishonor a fellow Sword Brother in the presence of ch'agua. If a reprimand is called for, it is to be handled quietly and privately within the Horde.
12. To express my opinions freely and openly, but to submit to the decisions of my superiors, whether I agree with these decisions or not.
13. To be the shield and defender to each Sword Brother as he is shield and defender to me, in all situations, combative and social.
